City of College Park Comprehensive Plan 2011-2031
In accordance with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Local Planning Requirements, the City of College Park updated its Comprehensive Plan in 2011.
Scope of Services
As the City embarked upon the update of its Comprehensive Plan, The Collaborative Firm was selected as its partner to lead this important planning initiative. The Plan includes a Community Assessment, which examines existing conditions within the City; a Public Participation Program; and a Community Agenda, which sets the course for implementation of the Plan.
The Collaborative Firm offers the expertise of planners and public involvement specialists who are well-versed in comprehensive planning practices. Firm professionals examined population data and trends, economic indicators, housing statistics, natural and cultural resources within the City, land use patterns, transportation infrastructure, community facilities and services, as well as intergovernmental coordination to identify potential issues and opportunities within each area.
Through an extensive public outreach effort, stakeholders throughout the community, including residents, business owners, community organizations, and local officials, were encouraged to participate in a visioning process. The visioning process included a number of interactive discussions and activities developed to identify community preferences and priorities, from which the Vision Statement for the City was derived and an implementation plan was developed to guide the City toward realization of the vision.
